The Matsushita Group is a global electronics manufacturer engaged in the production and sale of a wide range of electrical appliances, and in 1978, Chinese leaders visited the Group's Japanese television factory. During a meeting between the two sides, the founder, Konosuke Matsushita, expressed his determination to contribute to China.

    Subsequently, the Panasonic Group entered the beginning stage of its business in China. Established in 1994 and wholly owned in 2002, Panasonic Corporation (China) Co., Ltd. is responsible for sales and after-sales service activities for home appliances, systems, environment, components, medical equipment and other products. As an investment company in China, Panasonic (China) Co., Ltd. is also responsible for human resource development, finance, legal affairs, environmental protection, intellectual property rights, and other integration and support activities.

    In January 2012, Panasonic Corporation (China) Co., Ltd. merged with Panasonic Corporation (China) Co., Ltd. to further expand its business scope.
